Headaches are a very common problem. People of all ages get headaches from time to time. They can cause unbearable pain along with nausea and, at times, vomiting.
Common causes of headaches include stress, tension, restlessness, sinus problems, migraines, lack of sleep and dehydration.
Some solutions are-- Rehydrate your body, Place an ice pack on your forehead, Apply heat on the back of your neck, eat a piece of apple sprinkled with some salt, gently pressing the webbed area between your thumb and index finger for about a minute.

Applying heat on the back of your neck can relieve headaches caused by stress. Heat relaxes tense muscles, thus alleviating the throbbing pain.

Primary headaches are stand-alone illnesses caused directly by the overactivity of, or problems with, structures in the head that are pain-sensitive. This includes the blood vessels, muscles and nerves of the head and neck. They may also result from changes in chemical activity in the brain.

Primary headaches can occur when pain-sensitive structures in the head do not work properly.

Common primary headaches include migraines, cluster headaches and tension headaches.

Some types of headache can be both primary and secondary as they may be an isolated issue or a result of another condition or illness. Such headaches can involve:

  • Direct physical stimuli, such as temperature and external pressure
  • Pain over the scalp (epicranial)
  • Physical exertion
  • Other miscellaneous headaches.
  • The most common methods recommended for treating headaches are rest and pain relief medication. Generic pain relief medication can be bought over the counter, or health care providers can prescribe preventative medication, such as tricyclic antidepressent anti-epileptic drugs and beta blockers

It may be due to the fact that you need glasses and so your eyes are straining causing you to get headaches. This was the case for me, I now have glasses and I get far fewer headaches.

If eyesight is not an issue,to relieve headaches, you can try:
- drinking a large glass of water,
- lying down for a few minutes to reduce stress
- getting some exercise
- avoiding bright lights
-get medical attention or a medicine
